Today, over 40% of Indian women of working age are part of the workforce, a sharp rise from just over 20% a few years ago. Millions of women are stepping into formal employment, corporate roles, entrepreneurship, leadership tracks, and decision-making positions. Yet, women still make up only about a quarter of the workforce in Indian companies, and an even smaller fraction occupy senior leadership roles.
This moment represents both progress and a gap.
As more women step into professional spaces, their clothing needs have evolved. The modern Indian working woman needs attire that signals confidence, authority, and individuality—especially in environments where first impressions still matter. The blazer, globally recognised as a symbol of professionalism and power, becomes essential.
And yet, for many women in India, finding the right blazer is harder than it should be.
Most women either settle for fast-fashion blazers that lack fit, durability, and originality,
adjust men’s tailoring that doesn’t account for women’s bodies or movement, or repeat the same limited styles because better options simply don’t exist.
Not because they can’t afford better—but because the market hasn’t built for them.
